DIY clothes rack

Do you remember the times when everyone wanted to live in the fashion world? Most of us still do, but do you remember when the biggest trend was having your clothes on display for everyone to see? And we all used clothes racks to seem cool and fashion-like. They’re sold for $13 (well, $12.99) at IKEA, which i basically nothing, but there are times when $12.99 can be lifesaving and also, how cute are the ones from IKEA really?

So, to make your own clothes rack, you’ll need one bar of desired length and kind. I had a metal bar lying around at home and it’s width is about 1 meter. This bar, ironically came from an old IKEA closet. You’ll also need two chains, 1 meter in length, or you could make it your own design and maybe use some kind of rope, just make sure it holds the weight from your clothes and hangers. If using chains, you’ll need two screws and a screwdriver, if using rope or twine, just tie it around your bar. You’ll also need two ceiling hooks.

Put two ceiling hooks in your choice of location, 1 meter apart from each other. Now for chains, my metal bar already had a hole on each side but if yours doesn’t you can use a drill to make your own. Then put one chain on each side of the bar, use your screw and screwdriver to fasten it. Then hang the bar by the hooks in the ceiling. For rope or twine, do the same but just tie it to the bar and the ceiling hooks.

I decided to decorate my clothes rack with a starshaped light chain (also IKEA) and tadaa!
Tip: put a shoe rack underneath it for a good place to store your shoes! It looks good as well. (I have too many pairs so i had to put one on the side too)
